Dual practice
I know the challenges of associations and complex organisations from two perspectives: as an IT architect and as a volunteer president.
Over the past decades, I helped shape digital infrastructure in Austria and Europe—from establishing Austria’s domain registry to leading global digitalisation projects at Siemens.
At the same time, as president of the Upper Austrian Beekeepers’ Association, I carry daily responsibility for a large association with about 8,600 members, 243 local clubs, specialist retail, a laboratory, an association apiary, and its own school.
I know the tension between democratic legitimacy, voluntary leadership, and professional administration from first-hand experience.
I know where the invisible brakes sit in an association—and how to release them without losing members’ trust.
Rethinking work
Artificial intelligence is not simply the next software wave. It requires the courage to simplify an organisation’s invisible operating system.
